Declaring Independence Radio with Ed Brayton

Radio Show Preview: 02-05-09

On today’s episode of Declaring Independence I will be interviewing two interesting guests. The first is Lindsay Beyerstein, who blogs at Majikthise and writes for the Washington Independent. We will be discussing the influence of lobbyists in Washington and the incestuous relationship between money and politics in this country.

My second guest is Joann Bell, whose story is a remarkable one. She filed a lawsuit to get rid of school-sanctioned prayer at her childrens’ school and had her house burned down. She is now the director of the very group that represented her in that case, the ACLU of Oklahoma.

You can listen from 6-7 pm EST by clicking here.

You might want to correct the description on your podcast list.  It says “Joan Bell, ACLU of Joan Bell.“

His presence altered the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ sound considerably. pearl One Hot Minute contains fewer sexual themes than previous records, and explores darker subject matters such as drug use, depression, anguish and grief. It also integrated use of heavy metal guitar riffs. Vocalist Anthony Kiedis, who had resumed addictions Promotional Merchansise to cocaine and heroin in 1994 after being sober for more than five years, approached his lyricism with a reflective outlook on drugs and their harsh effects.

The blog: Majikthise is to be recommended. Great writing and well informed opinion. Always thought provoking without being argumentative. I missed this broadcast but will be looking out for similar interviews.

I think the lobbyists are the number one detriment to our country.  Just look what they’ve home with healthcare, home mortgage refinance, and energy.  Keep up the great topics!
